Privacy Policy

PrepPilot (“PrepPilot”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the PrepPilot mobile app and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PrepPilot, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: your email address, and (if you sign in with Apple or Google) the name and email those providers share with us.
• Dietary profile: the restrictions you choose (such as low-histamine, low-FODMAP, low-oxalate, or OAS), foods and food families you exclude, allergies and dislikes, and the kitchen equipment you own.
• Meal & pantry data: meal plans, shopping lists, pantry items and their states, freezer contents, and the meals you log as cooked or eaten.
• Reaction notes: any reactions or suspect ingredients you choose to record.
• Waitlist & communications: if you join our waitlist or newsletter, the email address you submit.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device information: basic information about how you use the app and website (pages and screens viewed, actions taken), device and browser type, and similar diagnostic data.
• Analytics & cookies: our website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, and the PrepPilot app and web app use PostHog for product analytics — recording which features you use and actions you take (such as generating a meal plan, adding a pantry item, or logging a meal), tied to your account. Some of these events include your dietary-profile selections (for example, which restriction filters you have enabled) so we can understand how different people use the product and improve it. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers. You can block cookies in your browser or use an analytics blocker.
• Crash & performance data: anonymized reports that help us find and fix bugs.

How we use your information

• Provide, personalize, and improve the PrepPilot service.
• Generate meal plans, shopping lists, and freshness estimates tailored to your dietary profile.
• Send you service-related messages and, if you opt in, product updates.
• Understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health-related dietary data for advertising.

How your information is stored and shared

Your account and app data are stored using Supabase (our database and authentication provider), with encryption in transit and at rest. We share information only with service providers that help us run PrepPilot, and only as needed to provide the service:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and hosting.
• Apple & Google: sign-in, and app distribution through the App Store and Google Play.
• Google Analytics: aggregate website analytics.
• PostHog: product analytics for the app and web app.
• Resend: delivery of waitlist and newsletter emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and PrepPilot.

Your rights and choices

You can:

• Access and update your profile information in the app.
• Request a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any message.
• Disable analytics cookies through your browser settings.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@preppilot.io. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.

Children's privacy

PrepPilot is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
